BlueCat

Embrace complexity

BlueCat Networks came to us to refresh their brand story in a way that would distinguish them from competitors. So, we devised a new, compelling narrative that evangelized the power of ‘Adaptive DNS’. We wanted to leverage the idea that businesses can adapt and thrive on network complexity, so we developed the existing brand with a poised and confident visual language that paragons the user journey. The results?

A beautiful, new website with a distinctive graphic identity, communication collateral and a brand film shot on premises in Toronto Canada which I concepted and Directed.

A walk and talk direct to camera film explains the benefits of BlueCat’s adaptive DNS. With a small budget to shoot live, this execution required smart thinking, big preparation and casting the right actor. A single day shoot, shot on location at the client’s premises in Toronto, Canada.

Working in tandem with the writer we had to strike the right balance between professional confidence and playfulness. The buying segment for this product is 92% male. So finding a lead who could deliver direct to camera with panache, interact seamlessly with extras, sound authentic whilst adding in the occasional ‘wink’ was paramount. Without such the film would bomb. We cast the talent and with scene by scene guidance (name of talent) she delivered brilliantly. The supporting cast were superb also. The supporting cast being the client.

One day prepping. One day shooting. One outstanding low budget with high production look film.
